LATOUR OUT OF THE PRIMEUR... SAME POLICY

The info was in the media this week : 2012 is the last en primeur campain for Chateau Latour, 1855 1st groth. They say the main reason is they want the wine to age and mature before beeing appreciated by the consumer....

Doesn't it ring you a bell ??
We claimed for ages that good bordeaux wine is a mature wine. Therefore Chateau Coufran and Chateau Verdignan wines are kept at the chateau and our customers can enjoy up to 11 years matured wines.

ALTERNATIVE PEOPLE

Hi, my name is FREDERIC VICAIRE, my mother familly (Miailhe) is involved in wine business since 1818.

After several years in export dept. in the industry I came back to Bordeaux and develop the wine trade branch of the family business.

Graduated from Rouen business school, I have passed in 2009 the DUAD (diplome universitaire d'aptitude à la dégustation... one year program in Bordeaux oenology university to learn more about wine making process related to wine tasting) and really enjoyed this. Now I can even better advice my customers and discuss about wine quality.

 

With Alternative Vintage I focus on new markets and Airlines Companies.

I love wine and strongly believe that :

  • Bordeaux wine has to age to be at its top ! (why drinking today 2005, 2006, 2007 ???? This is far too young and cannot compete against new world wines that are explosive when young but cannot hold the distance)
  • Bordeaux and especially Medoc wines are the best in the world. (of course you'll find excellent wines in other places but our soil and climate gives us a larger top wines population !)
  • Wine is the right drink with a good food and once you start concentrating on what you eat and drink, taste change your lifestyle.
  • Wine drinking is a matter of tasting, finding new products, discovering new tastes and understanding soils (St Julien wines should taste like St Julien and Medoc should be signed as Medoc !)
